Children’s hospitals advocate to improve care for children who have medically complex conditions. Family Advocacy Day is a yearly campaign that works with member hospitals to bring a family to Washington, DC to advocate for support for their hospital and Medicaid for children.
Children are unique individuals with their own specialized health care needs. The National Association of Children's Hospitals supports children's hospitals efforts improving the quality of pediatric care, reimbursement, education and advocacy. These publications carry the Associations branding and influence to members as well as to federal and state agencies.

Medicaid is considered by many as a policy for the elderly, but the sickest children need it, too. National Association for Children's Hospitals advocates for Medicaid for children through online outreach, advertising, public relations through media, social media, and face-to-face meetings that require graphic and publication support.
